Metrea Advanced Signals (MAS) specializes in signal classification, direction finding, advanced geolocation techniques, and waveform development including waveforms for MANET and LPI/LPD applications. MAS also develops special purpose radios for government customers and licenses DF and geolocation solutions to multiple OEMs.
Position Summary
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Role And Responsibilities
- Participate in development and test of prototypes for radio-frequency (RF) communications and RF sensor products at multiple levels: hardware, firmware and software
- Translate concepts and specifications for prototype hardware into schematics and layouts
- Translate concepts and specifications for basic software functions into Python code and test
- Troubleshoot prototypes at an appropriate level, involving members of engineering staff as needed
- Aid in developing product test instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Assist in other areas of manufacturing, such as product test and product build
- Comply with all company policies and safety requirements.
- 5 years of experience in electronic product testing
- 5 years of experience in RF hardware testing, development or related field
- Must be proficient in the use of electronic testing equipment such as DVM’s, oscilloscopes, frequency meter, signal generator, spectrum analyzer and network analyzer
- Experience with schematic capture tools such as OrCAD, DxDesigner, Altium or open-source equivalents
- Experience with basic low-speed 2/4/6-layer PCB layout
- Understanding of RF principles: impedance, S-parameters, VSWR, etc
- Proficiency with 3D-printing technology including: CAD software, slicing software and operation of 3D-prtiners
- Prior experience with Circuit boards, ideally including IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001 certifications
- Familiarity with digital interface standards: SPI, I2C, UART, etc
- Ability to write basic Python programs required for prototyping in test
- Proficiency in using and operating Linux systems
- Ability to work independently to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Systematic approach in problem solving and troubleshooting

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
