Aerospace Engineering Group (AERO) provides an integrated, end-to-end capability for the rapid modification and fielding of mission-specific aircraft. The Airborne Asset Adaptation (A3) Cell acts as the central command and coordination hub, managing requirements and external interfaces from inception to operational delivery. Specialized technical execution is delivered by the Aircraft Integration Centre (AIC), a Part 145 facility focused on airframe modification, and Aerospace Design (ASD), which provides organic design engineering and FAA-authorized certification. Collectively, these elements bridge the gap between initial requirements and the deployment of flight-certified, mission-ready assets.
Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for performing detailed inspections on aircraft, systems, and components to ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations, approved engineering data, company policies, and customer requirements in a high‑tempo modification center environment. The Aircraft Quality Inspector will review work orders, create log entries, conduct in‑process and final inspections, and document all findings in accordance with the Repair Station/Quality Control Manual and FAA regulations. The inspector also verifies proper configuration control and documentation for alterations and STCs, ensuring aircraft are safe, airworthy, and ready for return to service following complex modification programs. Working closely with production, engineering, and quality leadership, this role helps drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across all Repair Staion activities.

This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

This job operates in a hangar or flight line environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions, loud noise, and aircraft systems. What You’ll Do
- Ensure full compliance with 14 CFR Part 145, Part 21, Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, OpSpecs, and all applicable FAA regulations.
- Accomplish aircraft inspections in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM manuals, company standards, applicable maintenance program specifications, procedures and criteria to detect and document discrepancies and non-airworthy conditions.
- Ensure that receiving inspections of incoming parts, components, equipment, supplies, and materials is completed in accordance with the repair station manuals.
- Monitors workmanship and materials to verify that the company and FAA rules, regulations and standards are complied with.
- Ensure that aircraft modifications, inspections, and component changes are performed in accordance with maintenance manual procedures or approved technical data.
- Assist in the classification of repairs and alterations in relation to Major or Minor repairs and prepare appropriate documentation.
- Review all maintenance entries in the aircraft maintenance records, initiating procedural error notices as necessary to correct incomplete or deficient paperwork.
- Conduct routine and unscheduled audits of repair station operations and facilities as assigned.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities, and projects assigned by management.
Required
- Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment
- Demonstrated experience working in a quality focused role
- Demonstrable experience with standard enterprise IT utilities
- Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100, or similar quality systems.
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 21 and adjacent processes, including design, fabrication, prototyping, and conformity processes
- Prior experience in aircraft modification, military integration programs, or special mission aircraft
- Inspection Authorization (IA)
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate
