This role is primarily responsible for ensuring annuity contracts accurately capture MetLife’s promises to its customers, reflect business and operational capabilities and intentions, and comply with relevant regulatory requirements to enable MetLife’s purpose, “Always With You, Building a More Confident Future”.
- Develop and maintain annuity contracts, certificates, proposals, commitment agreements, and related documentation to support new and existing RIS products and business opportunities.
- Manage regulatory filing activities, including preparation of filing materials, responses to regulator inquiries, coordination of SERFF submissions, and negotiation of approvals with state insurance departments and the Interstate Insurance Compact.
- Analyze regulatory requirements, legislative developments, product initiatives, and non-standard business situations to identify compliance impacts and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to address contract matters, support strategic initiatives, and ensure contract language aligns with business, operational, and legal requirements.
- Support process improvement initiatives, knowledge sharing, and adoption of contract management technologies and tools, such as Icertis and Copilot.
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant business experience, or 4 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts, regulatory filings, legal documentation, compliance materials, and other complex business documentation.
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, organizational, and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions and manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Copilot, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- 5 years of experience in insurance, annuities, financial services, contract development, compliance, or legal-related roles.
- Knowledge of pension risk transfer, institutional income annuities, structured settlements, ERISA, and insurance regulatory filing requirements.
- JD, MBA, Finance degree, or other advanced professional designation.
The expected salary range for this position is $74,500 - $100,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
