Responsibilities
- Oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards in compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and NCQA standards
- Supervise and support nursing staff, providing guidance on patient care procedures and fostering professional development
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Administer medications, injections, and perform catheterizations following physician orders
- Conduct physical examinations, evaluate patient conditions, and participate in diagnostic evaluations, including laboratory specimen collection and processing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, dementia care, and individuals with developmental disabilities
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification required
- Proven experience in long term care facilities
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems
- Excellent patient assessment skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and proper handling of medical records
