Job Description

Metfab Engineering, Inc.is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented QualityLead Inspectorto join our growing team. This hybrid role combines warehouse operations with quality inspection responsibilities to ensure the accuracy, compliance, and readiness of all materials and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities*

Job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Measure dimensions such as length, height and distance between reference points using precision instruments including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, electric probe and CMM to ensure products meet specifications
• Inspect first run parts and complete FAI reports
• Set up and test inspection equipment to ensure accuracy
• Verify dimensions of parts against blueprint specification using instruments including but not limited to gauge blocks, micrometer and coordinate measuring machine and compute unspecified dimensions and other data using shop mathematics and trigonometry
• Assist in maintaining a calibration program, including scheduling and record keeping.
• Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to read and write English
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Must know algebra, geometry and trigonometry
• Must have a strong background in GD&T
• Must be able to use the following measuring devices:
  • Tape Measure
  • Height Gauges
  • Verniers
  • Micrometers
  • CMM Equipment

• Must have knowledge of the metal fabricating process
• Must be familiar with calibration of gauge blocks and pins
• Experience with instrument calibration.
• Must be familiar with Word and Excel

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment is generally consistent with that of a metal fabrication production facility. Safety equipment is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the metal fabricating environment
• Must have computer skills including Word and Excel
• Must have inspection knowledge and skills in the metal fabricating environment

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Physical Requirement: Must have fine motor skills; ability to do a repetitive motion; and the ability to sit or stand for most of the day. Mobility requirement must be enough to move between the office and the production floor. Balancing; climbing; bending; stooping; crawling; some light, moderate, heavy lifting and carrying; must have fine motor skills; be able to grasp small items; kneeling; pushing; reaching above shoulder; pulling hand over hand; ability to do a repetitive motion; and the ability to stand and walk for most of the day. Mobility requirement enough to move around the warehouse and production areas safely. The ability to wear and use a respirator for certain tasks as required.
• Visual Requirement: Must be able to visually read documents, and read from a computer screen
• Hearing Requirement: Must be able to hear and speak on the phone and in person to convey information. Must be able to identify hazard sounds and be aware of the environment in the warehouse and on the production floor for personal safety.
• Mental Requirement: Comprehension, Organization, Reasoning, Decision Making, Communication, and Mathematics.
