A growing metal fabrication company based in Newburgh, NY is seeking a full-time employee to fill the position of Customer Service Representative for our Coils and Flats division. The applicant will serve as the primary point of contact for our Building Distributor and Roofing Contractor clients. This role is the "heartbeat" of our daily operations, ensuring that high-volume orders for metal coils and flat sheets are processed rapidly and accurately to meet project deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High proficiency in data entry with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Ability to navigate digital MRP/ERP systems (experience with ABIS Adjutant is a major plus).
- Experience in building material distribution, manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment.
- Basic understanding of logistics/freight coordination is considered a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate between customers and the operations team.
- Must have a can-do, customer service-first attitude.

MAIN JOB TASKS & REQUIREMENTS
- Process customer orders for master coils, slit coils, and flat sheets using ABIS Adjutant.
- Verify real-time inventory levels (checking specific colors, gauges, and widths) to ensure product availability before confirming orders.
- Communicate directly with Building Distributors and Contractors regarding order status, pricing, and delivery windows.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to coordinate production priorities and outbound shipping schedules.
- Serve as the first line of defense for customer inquiries, resolving issues regarding shipping damages or order discrepancies with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Assist the Outside Sales team by generating quick quotes for standard stock items.
- Maintain accurate customer records and project files within the company system.
- Coordinate with the Inventory Purchaser to flag low stock levels on popular items.
- You will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Wage Range: $28.00 - $33.00 hourly plus additional benefits. In compliance with applicable law, this range is a good faith estimate based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
