What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at Metalwyze?
MetalWyze is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to lead the digital side of our fabrication department. You will be responsible for programming our state-of-the-art fabrication equipment, including the Trumpf TruPunch 1000 and Thalmann TD150 folders. This is a critical role in a new facility; while we require strong CAD proficiency, we are looking for a candidate with the initiative to learn and master proprietary software to maximize machine performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency CAD (2D/3D).
- Experience with CNC punching or folding software (Trumpf Boost, AutoPol, or similar) is highly preferred, but we will train the right CAD user.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and shop drawings.
- Understanding of sheet metal geometry, bend allowances, and flat pattern development.
- Self-Starter Mentality: Willingness to deep-dive into machine manuals and software guides to expand capabilities beyond basic training.
- Must have a can-do, problem-solving attitude.
MAIN JOB TASKS & REQUIREMENTS
- Create nested programs for the Trumpf TruPunch 1000 using Boost, AutoPol, Solidworks, software to maximize material yield and minimize scrap.
- Generate folding sequences and programs for Thalmann TD150 double folders using AutoPol or NuEvolution.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and OEM Edge Metal CSR to verify part tolerances against customer drawings.
- Troubleshoot code or programming errors on the shop floor to prevent downtime.
- Maintain a digital library of standard part programs and custom profiles for repeat orders.
- Assist in the setup and testing of new parts (First Article Inspection) to ensure programs produce accurate physical parts.
- Continuously optimize programs to reduce cycle times and improve production efficiency.
- Own the PM and Production programming of all automated folding and punching equipment.
- You will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Wage Range: $38.00 - $45.00 hourly plus additional benefits. In compliance with applicable law, this range is a good faith estimate based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
