Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance
- Perform all work in a safe manner and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Follow Metalsa’s safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
- Press & Equipment Maintenance
- Disassemble and reassemble metal forming presses for scheduled maintenance and rebuild projects.
- Perform rigging, scraping, grinding, fitting, and machine alignment using hand and power tools.
- Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Lubrication Systems
- Install and maintain lubrication blocks, lines, and plumbing for hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoot fluid power systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Assembly & Fabrication
- Assemble and rebuild equipment to OEM and customer specifications using standard procedures.
- Prepare components for assembly, ensuring they are clean, deburred, and free of defects.
- Tool & Equipment Operation
- Use hand and power tools including various types of welders, torque wrenches, impacts, magnetic drills, and hydraulic jacks.
- May require experience with or certification on equipment like mills, lathes (for small part polishing and key making), forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.
- Technical Interpretation
- Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Understand and apply basic mechanical and fluid system principles during maintenance work.
- Quality Assurance
- Perform in-process and post-repair inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- Experience maintaining, rebuilding, or repairing mechanical presses or heavy industrial machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools used in press maintenance.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Comfortable working with oils, grease, solvents, and in confined spaces.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred Experience & Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance and/or 2 years experience w/ degree in related field (industrial maintenance, engineering, etc);stamping or forming presses experience preferred
- Vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is a plus.
- Forklift and crane certification preferred (training provided if needed).
Working Conditions
- Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, grease, heat, and moving machinery.
- Requires physical activity including lifting, climbing, kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods.
