Position: Quality Engineer
Duties: Responsible for quality to internal and external customers of plant. Ensure the quality of parts meet the customer specifications and provide problem solving for quality issues, embracing the continuous improvements of processes. Develop quality systemic strategy for the process and deliverables. Monitor quality KPIs and generate actions for improvement. Develop projects to increase the quality performance. Communicate and visit the customers and suppliers, as needed. Ensure quick and correct response to quality issues either internally or externally. Assure problem solving and analysis of chronic issues. Manage the KPI of QR and flow outs for the process. Generate action plans for KPI out of target. Improve the performance and efficiency of quality controls and create improvement projects in the process. Innovate in new way and tools for improve quality. Provide response to the shop floor need in quality abnormalities. Follow supplier performance and work with supplier for improvement. Ensure the IATF 16949 requirements are met in the process. Participate in mulit-disciplinary team to improve performance of the process. Promote the quality mindset across the organization. Additional responsibilities as required.
Location: Roanoke, VA
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience:1 year of experience in the job offered, or in an automation, manufacturing, or quality engineering position within the automotive frame industry. Experience must include análisis of cusotmer concerns using problema solving methodology. Must have hands-on experience supporting IATF internal and external audits and processing quality data. Experience can be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
