Position Summary
Metalmark Capital is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join its investment team which focuses on healthcare, industrials, infrastructure, business services and energy. The Associate will play a critical role in evaluating new investments, supporting portfolio companies, managing due diligence processes and participating in fundraising and LP communications as needed.
Key Responsibilities.
- Conduct in-depth industry research and financial analysis to evaluate new investment opportunities and support portfolio companies
- Build and maintain complex financial models
- Monitor portfolio company performance, assist in strategic initiatives, and support value creation efforts
- Support transaction execution, including due diligence, deal structuring, and negotiation of legal documentation
- Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for internal Investment Committee discussions
- Collaborate with senior team members and external advisors throughout the investment lifecycle
- Assist with fundraising activities and limited partner reporting, as needed
- Leverage AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in investment banking or private equity
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
- Deep interest in private equity investing and Metalmark’s target industries, including understanding of sector trends, regulatory dynamics, and investment drivers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects
- Team-oriented with a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset
