POSITION OVERVIEW

The Mechanical Reduction Operator must process material using mechanical reduction equipment. Follow standard operating procedures for processing material. Follow safety procedures and requirements for correct (PPE) personal protective equipment, which includes hearing protection, respirators, gloves, safety glasses and shoes, and other protective clothing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Load and operate ball mills, blenders, de-caners, crushers and drum tilters as assigned by production manager.
  • Locate and verify material information using assay worksheet.
  • Inspect forklift at the beginning of the shift prior to use.
  • Operate forklift to weigh material on the appropriate scale.
  • Ensure MRD travel Document is completed correcting including lot number, ball mill, ticket weight and other criteria.
  • Report to manager, supervisor or team lead any discrepancy of weight, incorrect labels or other concerns or questions.
  • Clean the ball mill after each use.
  • Check work area to make sure it is free of trash. Clean work areas daily and follow cleaning schedule for department.
  • Maintain a professional environment in which work is performed in a safe and timely manner.
  • Pushing, pulling of drums and equipment which could weigh in excess of 100 lbs. Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending and stretching.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Schedule: The employees assigned shift will be annotated in the Payroll System. Employees may be required to work any shift, including evening, weekend or holiday shifts, as needed by the Company.

RCRA: This position will require interaction with hazardous waste. Metallix promotes a culture of safety and is committed to taking all steps necessary to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Be a “U.S. person” pursuant to section 120.15 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Must be able to use a calculator for basic math calculations.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Warehouse or plant manufacturing experience preferred.

Ability to work flexible schedules and mandatory department overtime as needed.

Knowledge of health and safety programs in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
