What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inside Sales Representative position at Metal Supermarkets Akron?
We're a small, family-owned Metal Supermarkets franchise serving businesses and individuals across Akron and Northeast Ohio. Our customers are welders, fabricators, machine shops, contractors, manufacturers, maintenance departments, and weekend DIYers — real people who need metal cut to size, fast, without the hassle of big minimums or long lead times.
We're looking for one good person to join our team.
What you'll actually do:
Customers call or email needing metal — a specific grade, a specific size, cut to length. You figure out what they need, quote it accurately, and close the sale. We'll train you on the product. You bring the people skills, the phone presence, and the work ethic.
The schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm. No nights. No weekends. No holidays.
The pay and benefits:
- $20–25/hr to start depending on experience
- Commission added after 3–6 months — the ceiling goes up the more you sell

You'll fit right in if you:
- Have at least a year of inside sales, counter sales, or customer service experience — B2B a plus
- Are a natural on the phone and genuinely enjoy helping people solve problems
- Come from an industrial, trade, or supply background — not required, but you'll hit the ground running
- Are comfortable with basic math — and we mean comfortable, not "I can Google it." Converting fractions to decimals and feet to inches on the fly is a daily requirement. This is non-negotiable.
