Role Description The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities within the metal recycling and processing industry. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Hunt Valley, MD, with some flexibility to work from home as business needs allow. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and building a pipeline of industrial and commercial clients, conducting outreach via calls, emails, and in-person meetings, and presenting tailored solutions that address client recycling and material management needs. The role will oversee the preparation of proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations in collaboration with operations and leadership teams. The Business Development Manager will also maintain and grow existing accounts through regular check-ins, performance reviews, and service optimization. Additional duties include tracking key sales metrics, reporting on market trends and competitive activity, and representing the company at industry events, site visits, and client meetings. The position requires close coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding of new customers and high levels of service delivery.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally in recycling, waste management, manufacturing, logistics, or a related industrial sector.
- Proven ability to prospect, build, and manage a pipeline of opportunities from initial contact through contract execution and ongoing account growth.
