About the Role:
The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement, storage, and management of materials within a warehouse or production environment. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming materials, as well as preparing and staging materials for shipment or production use. The Material Handler ensures that inventory levels are maintained accurately and that materials are handled safely to prevent damage or loss. This role requires close collaboration with warehouse staff, production teams, and logistics personnel to support seamless operations. Ultimately, the Material Handler contributes to the overall productivity and operational success by maintaining an organized and well-stocked material flow system.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification preferred).
- Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials regularly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift operator certification.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution setting.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations to optimize space and accessibility.
