Role Description The Director of Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Grand Rapids, MI, responsible for overseeing day-to-day plant operations and ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production across sheet metal and tube processing activities. This role manages operational planning, resource allocation, and workflow optimization to meet customer demand and delivery timelines, while maintaining quality and cost targets. The Director of Operations will lead and develop operations teams, set performance expectations, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. This position collaborates closely with engineering, finance, sales, and customer service to support product-based solutions, resolve production issues, and maintain strong customer relationships. The director will also monitor key performance indicators, drive process improvements, manage budgets, and support strategic planning to enable sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- Strong Operations Management background with experience in production planning, process improvement, and performance measurement.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret data, monitor KPIs, and make data-informed decisions.
- Proven Team Management capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and developing talent in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Solid Budgeting and financial oversight skills, including cost control, resource allocation, and operational forecasting.
- Commitment to high-quality Customer Service and stakeholder communication, with the ability to build and maintain customer and vendor relationships.
