Shipping Lead

Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shipping Lead to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our plant's shipping operations. Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily shipping, receiving, and distribution center activities to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Lead and motivate warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Oversee inventory management processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control systems like tablets or RF scanners.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
• Implement process improvements utilizing lean management principles to optimize warehouse workflows and reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and warehouse activities through Microsoft Office tools and inventory management systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines, during all warehouse operations.
• Collaborate with logistics partners, including third-party logistics providers (3PL), to coordinate distribution center operations effectively.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory accuracy, materials handling procedures, and warehouse safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related logistics roles with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to operate mechanical equipment such as forklifts and other heavy lifting material handling equipment safely.
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as lean management to enhance operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation purposes.
• Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment operation is highly desirable.
• Experience working within distribution center operations in e-commerce or similar fast-paced environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse settings.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
