ROLE
Lead daily shipping and receiving operations, acting as a liaison between management and the warehouse floor, along with customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead daily shipping and receiving operations.
- Oversee scheduling all incoming and outgoing freight as necessary.
- Verification that all paperwork is processed in a timely manner and in according with established procedures.
- Act as primary liaison for the plant and customer service as related to all customer shipments such as, but not limited to, knowledge and understanding of individual customer requirements.
- Work with production to streamline any processes or suggest process improvements related to raw material and finished goods.
- Oversee issue resolution including damaged goods, shipping and receiving errors and inventory discrepancies.
- Report all freight issues in a timely manner, both shipping & receiving.
- Work with Logistics Manager to streamline any processes or suggest process improvements related to inventory control.
- Cycle count inventory as needed and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low levels to appropriate departments (purchasing, scheduling, or others as necessary).
- Work with Logistics Manager to create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as necessary.
- Provide training to shipping & receiving new hires or additional training to current employees as needed.
- Operate in a safe manner; lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move parts to proper locations.
- Completes all required paperwork timely and completely.
- iMantain an organized and clean work area ensuring a safe environment.
- Report timely all safety, quality & equipment issues to supervision.
- Follows all procedures, rules, and work in a safe manner.
- Keeps barrels empty for production.
- Able to work weekends when mandatory.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
