UX Researcher II

Meta
Kirkland, WA Other
POSTED ON 9/30/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/7/2027

We're seeking an experienced UX Researcher to own and execute research for third-party VR/MR games on Meta Quest. You'll act as the research lead for assigned titles -- partnering with game studios, production, publishing, and the internal UXR team to turn player insight into shipping decisions across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Own assigned titles end-to-end: scope questions, write research plans and discussion guides, recruit, moderate, analyze, and deliver reports and readouts -- often on a fast turnaround.
Run both 1:1 usability studies and large-N benchmark/measurement studies, in-lab (in Seattle or Bellevue).
Partner with production and publishing teams as primary stakeholders -- align studies to greenlight/milestone decisions and present insights that shape sourcing, design, and content strategy.
Coordinate and collaborate with a shared team research schedule. Handoff and take on titles as milestones and priorities shift.
Participate in peer review of teammates' plans and reports.
Manage research vendors/participants and study logistics (device/hardware setup, session materials).

Qualifications:
4+ years UX research, incl. moderating and turning qualitative data into actionable insight.
Full-cycle execution: planning, recruitment, moderation, analysis, report writing, stakeholder presentation.
Interviews, usability testing, and games playtesting.
Designing and analyzing surveys / quantitative data.
Bachelor's or Master's in Psychology, HCI, or related field.

Additional preferred requirements:
Video game and/or VR user research experience
Experience working with gestures based input such as hands or body inputs.
Benchmark/measurement methods; comfort using AI tools to speed analysis

Requirements:
Works independently; owns timelines across multiple concurrent studies.
Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder-management skills.
Data-literate -- uses numbers to define and support hypotheses.
Able to wear a VR headset for extended work sessions.
