As a Realtime Engine Technology engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing real-time interactive software that powers our immersive experiences, enabling seamless and intuitive interactions between users and virtual environments. Software Engineer, Realtime Engine Technology - Reality Labs Responsibilities:

• Architect efficient and reusable systems that drive complex realtime interactive software
• Build technologies that empower developers to create compelling experiences
• Optimize and debug real-time systems to ensure smooth performance
• Influence design, drive engineering implementation and enhance the quality of new and existing technologies
• Lead collaboration with multi-functional teams to achieve successful product outcomes
• Utilize your specialized expertise to mentor, educate, and up-level engineers you collaborate with across teams
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6 years of software development experience in industry settings or a PhD with 4 years of experience
• Experience with C and/or C
• Experience in communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, collaborators, and clients at different levels
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building engine-level systems (e.g., Rendering, Collision, Physics, Input Processing, Audio, Animation, Networking, etc.) for 3D real-time interactive engines (Unity 3D, Unreal, Frostbite, or other/proprietary)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

• Experience building for multiple hardware platforms (e.g., PC, Console, MR/VR, Cloud, mobile)
• In-depth understanding of 3D math, linear algebra, and physics
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience with performance optimization of real-time applications (CPU, GPU, Memory, etc.)
