We are a rapidly growing precision machine shop. We do a mix of production work but most of what we do is low volume prototype jobs with very tight tolerances requiring quick turnarounds. Our specialty is in smaller precision parts (no overhead cranes).
This is a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to work under tight deadlines and high pressure. We are a job shop.
Deburr Technician / Shop Assistant
Meta Tech Industries is looking for a skilled individual to join our team, under minimal guidance of the management team, shall perform a variety of functions. The Shop Assistant shall perform the following functions:
Responsibilities
- Deburr machined parts using various tools such as hand tools and pencil grinders
- Polish finished parts using a lathe
- Inspect finished products for small scratches or blemishes.
- Clean finished products using written procedures
- Assisting in shop - preparing parts to ship, including wrapping, marking & boxing.
- General Cleaning – mopping the floors, cleaning machines, etc.
- On occasion, operate CNC machines to manufacture parts
- Provide support to other projects or tasks as required.
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Skills/Qualifications
- Previous experience with debur tools is not mandatory, but is a big plus
- MUST have good vision, corrective lenses acceptable.
- Ability to adapt to changes in procedures and assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize simultaneous workflow duties.
- Attention to detail is a must.
Schedule:
- Normal hours are 6-4:30 or 6-6:30 Monday through Friday (50-60 hours per week avg)
- Day shift
- Weekdays Only

- Houston, TX 77080: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
