What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at Mestek Machinery?

JOB DESCRIPTION

Quality Technician will conduct routine quality inspections throughout assembly production, including in-process and final inspections of new machinery.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. QC inspection of all new equipment.
  2. Conduct reviews of checklists for compliance with equipment specification standards per customer purchase agreements.
  3. Is a liaison between production and engineering for technical updates.
  4. Will participate in overflow part quality check as needed for machining operation.
  5. Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection.
  6. Record and maintain documentation of all machinery inspections.
  7. Work with the safety committee to ensure continuous compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and standards.
  8. Identify and troubleshoot quality issues and recommend solutions.
  9. Collaborate and train production staff in quality control procedures and standards.
  10. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and safety control processes.
  11. Communicate quality and safety control findings and recommendations to management.
  12. Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Associate of Applied Science Degree or equivalent, electrical or mechanical.
  2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a quality control manufacturing environment.
  3. Thoroughly versed in the use of an array of electronic test equipment.
  4. Understand basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
  5. Understand basic pneumatic/hydraulic fundamentals.
  6. Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
  7. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  8. Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
  9. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  10. Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
