Sr. Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager leads a team that manages day-to-day purchasing of raw materials and indirect spend categories (freight, MRO supplies, capital equipment, packaging, utilities, and services) supporting manufacturing and distribution across North America. This role develops processes, resolves issues, and tracks team progress against established KPIs while collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the team responsible for raw material purchasing and indirect spend categories across all US facilities
• Lead development and execution of procurement processes in line with established metrics, and track team progress against KPIs
• Own tolling manufacturer relationships and tolling strategy in alignment with production needs
• Deliver cost reductions in managed spend categories by pursuing opportunities and negotiating with suppliers
• Develop contracts and service agreements, and ensure the supply base delivers to expected service levels and KPIs
• Locate, qualify, and establish a network of vendors, prepare bid requests, and review supply quotations
• Engage with internal stakeholders, regional group companies, and suppliers to resolve issues
• Lead SAP and business process improvement initiatives affecting managed spend areas, and lead or participate in cross-functional procurement projects
• Coach and mentor direct reports and other Procurement team members

Required Qualifications:

• 8 years of experience in Purchasing or Operations in a mid-to-large-size organization
• 4 years of experience managing global freight and transportation
• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA
• CPM or CSCP certification
• Chemical industry background
