Electronic Engineering Technician

Electronic Technician - Messina Talent seeks an Electronic Technician for our client, a major manufacturer of automated electro-mechanical devices. Their team environment is one of continuous blending of mechanical devices, controls, and software merging into automated machinery that can be leveraged by their customers to optimize processes and reduce labor costs. The role offers a fast-paced work environment in the heart of Chicago along with competitive compensation and benefits.

Electronic Technician - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Testing and debugging of electronics boards.
• Production/Testing/Debugging microcontroller-based PCBs.
• Loading software, configuring, and testing Industrial PCs and PLCs.
• Support of machine production and service departments.
• Maintaining support documentation for manufacturing and testing.
• Building and maintenance of electrical/electronic test fixtures.
• Customer phone assistance for troubleshooting.

Other Details:

• Schedule: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; some overtime is likely.

Electronic Technician Job Requirements:

• Tech degree in the electronics field or equivalent experience.
• Strong electronics troubleshooting skills.
• Documentation skills with worksheets and spreadsheets.
• Mechanical aptitude, use of hand tools, and sheet metal.
• Ability to work well with personnel at all levels.
• Opportunity to bring perspective to improve methods and processes.

• CAD for sheet-metal and circuit board design.
