Position Summary:
Seeking to hire a Machine Tester for our client, a major manufacturer of automated electromechanical devices. Their team environment is one of continuous blending of mechanical devices, controls, and software merging into automated machinery that can be leveraged by commercial laundries to optimize processes and reduce labor costs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive testing of commercial laundry equipment and related systems
- Verify mechanical, electrical, heating (gas, steam, electric), and pneumatic systems function according to specifications and customer requirements
- Perform operational tests on equipment to ensure proper functionality, safety compliance, and performance standards
- Document test results, record measurements, and maintain testing logs
- Identify defects, malfunctions, or deviations from specifications and communicate findings to production and engineering teams
- Troubleshoot issues and work with assembly and engineering staff to resolve equipment problems
- Conduct final quality inspections before equipment is approved for shipment
- Test control systems, sensors, motors, switches, and other electrical components
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration of measurement tools
- Follow established testing procedures and protocols
- Assist with equipment adjustments and fine-tuning as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, technical training or certification in mechanical/electrical systems preferred
- 2 years of experience in machine testing/quality control in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial machinery and heating systems
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Basic electrical and gas systems knowledge and ability to test electrical systems safely
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Good written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting
