What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Operations position at Messika?
Messika is a Parisian High Jewelry Maison, designed by Valerie Messika, daughter of the renowned diamond trade dealer, Andre Messika. Since 2005, Messika has been a growing leader in jewelry with over 500 Points of Sales worldwide across 90 countries.
In the United States, the brand is distributed through directly operated retail boutiques, a network of wholesale partners (department stores and independent retailers), and an internally managed e‑commerce platform.
As part of an ambitious expansion plan in the American market, Messika USA is building a high‑performing team of driven, entrepreneurial professionals to support the brand’s rapid and sustainable growth.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Americas, the Head of Operations & Supply Chain will oversee all operational activities in the Americas region. This is a key leadership role combining hands‑on operational involvement with strategic vision, within a fast‑growing and agile organization.
You will lead a team of 8 people and play a central role in structuring, optimizing, and scaling operations to support Messika USA’s development.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic inventory planning and stock optimization across the US network
- Retail boutique merchandising coordination
- Warehouse operations and inventory management (physical stock handling, preparation, shipments)
- Customer service and order management across all distribution channels
- US logistics and operational processes
- Operational execution of major off‑site Messika events (including High Jewelry events)
- Management of all US customs and transportation matters
- Oversight of the external 3PL warehouse (non‑value stock)
- Supervision of the US Repair & Care service (after‑sales service and stock refurbishment)
Team & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Direct management and development of an operations team of 8 (junior and senior profiles)
- Close collaboration with Messika USA teams: Retail, Wholesale, E‑commerce, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, PR, etc.
- Daily coordination with external partners (3PL warehouse, transportation providers, after‑sales workshops)
- Frequent interaction with Paris Headquarters teams: Global Operations, Supply Chain, Retail Merchandising, Sales Administration, Logistics, Repair & Care
Profile & Skills Requirements
