We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, with experience in acute care, geriatrics, and long-term care settings. This role involves developing personalized nutrition plans, conducting patient assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal health outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide expert guidance on nutrition management for patients with complex medical conditions, including those requiring tube feeding or specialized diets.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition strategies into overall treatment plans, including mental health and substance abuse recovery.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust dietary interventions accordingly to ensure effectiveness and safety.
- Educate patients and their families on proper nutrition practices, weight management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Supervise dietary department staff when applicable, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on quality care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field; registered status as a Dietitian (RD) is required.
- Proven experience in hospital or clinical settings, preferably with geriatrics, acute care, or long-term care experience.
- Strong knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and disease management.
- Experience with dietary management involving tube feeding and specialized nutritional support.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Demonstrated ability in supervising staff within dietary or healthcare departments.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques related to nutritional assessment and care planning.
