What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing/Materials Coordinator (Buyer II) - Full-Time position at Mesa View Regional?
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the Materials Management inventory, ensuring that supplies and equipment are readily available to meet both routine and emergency needs across all hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the efficient processing of purchase requisitions and orders, securing necessary goods and services for all departments. Manage backorders, manufacturer delays, and shipment issues with a resolution turnaround of no more than 24 hours. Additionally, maintain compliance with our HealthTrust GPO contract across all departments.
* Research and recommend vendors, ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards.
* Maintain and manage central supply inventory, including receiving deliveries, verifying order accuracy, and assessing the condition of merchandise.
*Serve as a liaison between hospital departments and service representatives to ensure smooth procurement and distribution processes.
*Maintain computerized inventory records, tracking costs and supply levels to optimize inventory efficiency.
*Ensure that all necessary supplies are stocked, restocked, and distributed as needed to support quality patient care.
*Seek and evaluate potential new vendors who meet the hospital’s purchasing criteria.
*Uphold a commitment to exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to support hospital operations.
*Perform all other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Current and valid driver’s license.
A minimum of four years of experience in ordering, storing, and distributing supplies and equipment, including at least two years as a purchasing agent or buyer. Must possess the ability to evaluate supply needs for storeroom inventories and operational demands, ensuring accurate and efficient ordering. Strong collaboration skills are required to effectively work with hospital staff and physicians. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
