- Professional Learning Planning and Execution
- Design and implement professional learning experiences that align with the district’s instructional vision, educator growth needs, and strategic plan priorities.
- Lead the planning and coordination of major professional learning events, including Back-to-School professional learning, In-Service Days, District Fridays, NICs, Special Education Planning Days, and Summer Institute.
- Develop and lead year-long K–12 learning pathways that are responsive to staff feedback and support content-specific and role-based development.
- Coordinate the design and delivery of professional learning focused on Special Education practices, legal requirements, and inclusive instruction.
- Facilitate learning opportunities for both General Education and Special Education staff that promote evidence-based practices and support compliance with legal and instructional expectations.
- Partner with school administrators, instructional coaches, and academic departments to ensure coherence across learning opportunities and school improvement plans.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by embedding reflective practices and collaborative learning in all professional development efforts.
- Instructional Design and Support
- Collaborate with district and building leaders to design year-long, vertically and horizontally aligned professional learning sequences.
- Prepare and coach facilitators to deliver high-quality, adult-centered learning aligned with instructional best practices.
- Integrate participant feedback, implementation data, and strategic goals into the ongoing refinement of content and delivery methods.
- Logistics, Communication, and Compliance
- Manage all logistical aspects of professional learning events, including scheduling, registration, materials, facility coordination, and presenter support.
- Monitor staff participation, maintain accurate records, and support data reporting requirements for state and district compliance.
- Maintain an organized repository of professional learning resources and communications to ensure accessibility and transparency.
- Ensure all professional development activities meet applicable district policies and state/federal professional learning standards.
- Data and Program Evaluation
- Collect and analyze data related to professional learning participation, feedback, and outcomes.
- Use data to evaluate effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and drive programmatic decisions.
- Contribute to district reports and presentations showcasing the impact of professional learning on educator practice and student outcomes.
- Extended Learning Oversight
- Lead the design and coordination of summer extended learning programs for educators.
- Monitor and evaluate program quality, outcomes, and alignment with instructional goals and apply findings to improve future programming.
- Other Duties
- Additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as needed/requested.
- Master’s Degree in administration, curriculum and instruction, professional/organizational development, special education or related field.
- Minimum five years of Classroom Teacher experience
- Minimum two years of experience in Special Education
- Minimum two years of demonstrated leadership experience required
- Current Colorado Principal or Administrator license

Coordinator of Professional Learning
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum, this position supports the design, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality professional learning experiences for educators across the District. This position coordinates district-wide training efforts, including Back to School sessions, Special Education planning days, In-Service days, District Fridays, Summer Institutes, and NICs, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and compliance requirements. This position partners with instructional leaders, course facilitators, and school-based teams to develop personalized, impactful professional development opportunities that improve teaching practices, support staff retention, and advance student achievement. This role also oversees extended learning programs, manages logistics and communication, and curates resource libraries to promote continuous educator growth across the system.
Job Responsibility Description
Working Conditions:
207 days / year
This position holds an expectation for work outside of the regular schedule to include after hours and evening meetings and some weekends. This position also has some expectation to participate in “off-hours” staff meetings, board of education presentations, agency meetings, trainings, and workshops. This position strives to balance level of attendance at such events in conjunction with all other duties, obligations, and personal life.
