What are the responsibilities and job description for the SYSTEM SECURITY SPECIALIST position at Mesa County, CO?
This position serves as the designated Department of Human Services Security Administrator for access to all Colorado state computer systems including assignment of all access profiles, initial access authority, redetermination of access authority and revocation of access. This includes all applicable state systems that are used. This includes tracking and auditing all individual users across all applications and verification of all appropriate access levels.
May assist technical support staff and users in troubleshooting computer problems. May act as liaison between the State Security teams for the Colorado Benefit Management System (CBMS) and TRAILS (Child Welfare) state systems. Performs all audits required by the State of Colorado for system access.
Enters data into and retrieves information from multiple computer systems in order to update records, process transactions, or in response to requests for information. May assist in training staff on use of State and County computer applications. Serves as liaison with the State Helpdesk to log software or application problems.
Provide support to the Policy and Informatics Analysts on various duties including but not limited to assisting with data collection and data pull processes.
Will serve as an EBT Coordinator back up as needed, verifying EBT card issuance for accuracy.
May perform audit/quality assurance functions for various areas of operation by developing, implementing and maintaining quality assurance standards and procedures to ensure work product and delivered services meet agency and regulatory requirements. May provide training and guidance to staff on quality standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements to promote a culture of quality throughout the agency.
While the primary duty of this position is the DHS Security Administrator, the role will also perform general administrative support as a floater to assist various areas of DHS as needed. Duties may include, but are not limited to, frontline customer service, mail and copy projects, answering phones, logging calls, scanning documents, data entry, data tracking, and policy dissemination.
Maintains confidentiality of information during the course of all duties

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Under administrative supervision, the employee has personal accountability for carrying out an assigned function, program, or project within the scope of established guidelines and objectives and is expected to research and resolve problems that arise in the normal course of the work. Education And Experience
Associates degree or two (2) years of college or technical training in business, general studies, human services, or a related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience is preferred.
Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to research, collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to present and explain findings and processes. Working knowl dge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and G Suite software is desired.
