Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing back-up to the Project Support Coordinator as well as Call Center and online permitting support. Additional administrative support duties may be assigned. Will provide back-up support in preparing the Land Development project hearing binders for the Board of County Commissioners ("BOCC"), Mesa County Planning Commission ("MCPC"), and the Board of Adjustments ("BOA") as well as acting as back-up Clerk to the MCPC and BOA. In addition, this position will provide support to the Support Services staff as Call Center and online permitting/portal activities. This position has many responsibilities that require excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making skills, technical abilities, and accuracy.*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*

Provides accurate information and direction to customer inquiries and complaints.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:
High School or equivalent and six (6) months of progressive work experience.
Or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Physical Requirements And Working Environment
This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.

In coordination with the Project Support Coordinator and Support Services Manager, the following tasks may be assigned:
- Prepares project files for new applications. Monitors the status of planning and compliance projects, and assists in completion of administrative tasks to progress projects and code cases forward.
- Notifies applicant that projects are complete and of the tentative decision and hearing dates; mails property owner notifications for public hearing and administrative items within required time frames; notifies applicants and representatives of sign posting schedule.
- Prepares and proofs all legal and display ads for all public hearings, workshops, and administrative items including written reports and location maps used in public hearings; prepares information packets for public hearings for the MCPC, BOCC and BOA as assigned. Responsible for coordinating the printing and electronic distribution of hearing binders.
- Assists the Project Support Coordinator with preparation, assembly and distribution of all notices of Division meetings, public forums, workshops, and related packets. Prepares, distributes, and scans: correspondence, schedules, agendas, public notices, and advertising.
- Provides MCPC minutes to Planning staff for review; produces and emails final copy to MCPC board members and ensures incorporation of the MCPC secretary's signature on all approved minutes and files.
- May be required to attend one or more evening meetings for the MCPC.
- Develop a basic knowledge of Planning, Building, and On-site Wastewater Treatment System ("OWTS") processes and paperwork necessary to appropriately respond to inquiries regarding general
- Enters data in the relevant databases and adds appropriate steps in the process to ensure that the databases are current and accurate.
- As assigned completes permit entry and issuance checks as needed.
- Provides technical assistance to the public in regards to the Electronic Plan Review program.
- Assists in answering phone calls and directing caller to the correct employee or department.
- Ensures accurate information is relayed to other team members or departments when necessary.
- Properly archives new and historical documents by scanning, filing, and archiving in accordance to County retention policy.
- Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner, and maintains professional demeanor, appearance, and attitude.
- Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage various work assignments.
- Ability to accurately reconcile cash, check, and credit card transactions for daily deposit.
- Oral and written communications must be c ear and effective. Inquiries and replies must be addressed with in a timely (same day) manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
