As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to strengthen our internal infrastructure, align systems for growth, and drive operational excellence across all administrative functions.
Position Overview
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is a key executive leadership role responsible for leading and integrating Merut's core administrative functions—including Business Management, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, and Office Operations.
This position requires deep expertise in construction workflows, compliance, and organizational risk management, along with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills. The CAO will ensure that Merut's administrative systems and policies effectively support company growth, operational efficiency, and long-term strategic goals.
Given the collaborative and operational nature of this position, approximately 80% of the role is on-site at company headquarters to foster real-time engagement with leadership, staff, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and integration across all administrative departments—including Business Management, HR, IT, Marketing, and Office Management.
- Partner with the executive team to set departmental goals, evaluate performance metrics, and align administrative operations with organizational objectives.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of company policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Support department heads with operational guidance, policy interpretation, and resource management.
- Analyze and optimize administrative systems for efficiency, compliance, and productivity.
- Lead company-wide audits, compliance initiatives, and documentation management.
- Manage company insurance programs, including workers' compensation, auto, liability, and general coverage.
- Collaborate with auditors, financial institutions, and legal counsel to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
- Direct development and execution of marketing plans, advertising strategies, and competitive research in alignment with business development goals.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure administrative systems comply with all industry, state, and federal regulations, including insurance, licensing, and certification requirements.
- Partner with IT vendors and the Business Manager to oversee digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and system performance.
- Approve changes in employee positions within the Administrative Department.
- Promote internal consistency and alignment between departmental practices and company goals.
- Represent Merut Construction at professional and industry events to enhance organizational visibility and build partnerships.
General Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop administrative personnel through mentoring, training, and performance management.
- Promote a safe, professional, and inclusive work culture centered on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all customer, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Oversee timely completion of administrative deliverables and documentation.
- Maintain and advance organizational best practices to ensure efficient business operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Management, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in administrative or operational management, ideally in construction, utilities, or other regulated industries.
- Proven record of success in strategic planning, system optimization, and organizational development.
- Strong business acumen and leadership skills with the ability to drive cross-functional performance.
- Ability to provide professional references upon request.
