Key Results Areas (KRAs): SAFETY – QUALITY – EFFICIENCY
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Overall Support for Entire Crew
- Assist the pipe layer and machine operator with all necessary tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Hand out tools and materials required for pipe installation and other duties.
- Assist the machine operator by directing the pipe into the excavation/trench to ensure accurate placement.
- Support the top man and machine operator in ensuring the proper alignment and positioning of pipes.
Pipe Installation Assistance:
- Ensure gaskets are properly placed around the pipe to prevent leaks and avoid rework.
- Use a bucket and brush to clean dirt, rocks, and debris around pipes to maintain clean, leak-free installations.
- Be responsible for making sure that all tools and materials are ready for use by the pipe layer and machine operator, ensuring an efficient workflow.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety regulations, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times on the job site.
- Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the foreman or supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, and operational standards.
Team Support and Collaboration:
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the job is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Take initiative to assist others as needed to keep projects moving forward and help meet deadlines.

Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in construction or utility work is preferred but not required.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with crew members and supervisors.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
- Team Player: Willingness to assist and support the pipe layer, machine operator, and other crew members in any tasks that arise.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Safety Conscious: Commitment to following safety procedures and ensuring the job site is always safe.
