Position Summary
The Operations Excellence & Integration Manager is responsible for driving operational performance, process improvement, integration initiatives, and cross-functional alignment across the organization. This role focuses on improving efficiency, safety, compliance, profitability, and scalability within biosolids management, land application, hauling, dewatering, composting, and related environmental services operations.

The manager partners closely with operations, environmental compliance, maintenance, logistics, safety, finance, and leadership teams to standardize best practices, optimize workflows, and support acquisitions, expansions, and new operational integrations.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across biosolids processing, transportation, dewatering, composting, and land application operations.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs), KPIs, and operational metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase equipment utilization, and minimize downtime.
  • Analyze operational data and trends to support decision-making and performance improvements.
  • Support route optimization, fleet efficiency, labor productivity, and asset management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional managers and site leaders to ensure operational consistency across locations.

Integration & Process Improvement

  • Lead integration efforts for acquisitions, new facilities, and operational expansions.
  • Align systems, workflows, reporting structures, and operational standards across business units.
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of operational software systems, ERP platforms, maintenance systems, and reporting tools.
  • Drive change management initiatives and support employee adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects to improve communication and operational alignment.

Safety & Compliance

  • Support and reinforce company safety culture and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure operations align with EPA, IDEM, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable environmental and transportation regulations.
  • Partner with environmental compliance and safety teams to identify operational risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, incident reviews, and corrective action planning.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with executive leadership to support strategic operational goals.
  • Provide coaching, training, and operational support to field managers and supervisors.
  • Facilitate collaboration between operations, maintenance, transportation, environmental, and administrative teams.
  • Lead special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in operations management, process improvement, logistics, environmental services, biosolids, wastewater, agriculture, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of operational efficiency, continuous improvement methodologies, and project management.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and industrial safety standards preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, operational reporting systems, and ERP/software platforms.
