Merlin Law Group P.A. is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant with 5 years of litigation experience in our New Orleans, LA office.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Paralegal/Legal Assistant with 5 years of litigation experience to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment. The paralegal/legal assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys, maintaining case files, and ensuring the smooth flow of operations within our litigation team.
What you'll do:

Conduct initial intake process and work with clients to gather detailed case information.

Perform case-related legal research.

Act as liaison among all parties including courts and other neutral parties.

Review, organize, and maintain case pleadings and indexes.

Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, interrogatories/answers, and other legal documents.

Coordinate the collection, review and production of documents and discovery requests.

Assist in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including assistance with preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial.

Assist with trial preparation including preparation of exhibits, witness binders and other demonstrative evidence for use at trial and court hearings.
Our ideal candidate:

Associates Degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies (preferred)

5 years of relevant experience as a paralegal with a focus on litigation

Experience and knowledge of State and Federal court system and filings

First Party Property Insurance (a plus)?

Proficient in Microsoft Office, document management and client management software systems

Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Organized & detail-oriented
