We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Department Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to department leadership and staff. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient daily operations through scheduling, report preparation, data management, communication coordination, and customer service support.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to department leadership.
- Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Maintain departmental records, files, and databases.
- Compile and distribute reports and departmental communications.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, record meeting minutes, and coordinate department events.
- Collect and enter data into appropriate systems.
- Order and maintain office supplies.
- Provide backup receptionist coverage and assist customers by answering questions and directing inquiries.
- Support departmental performance monitoring and goal achievement.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across the organization.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Coursework in business, office administration, or related field preferred.
- Secretarial school training preferred.
Experience
- Previous office, administrative, or clerical experience preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including:
- Word
- Excel
- Access
- Windows-based systems
Skills & Abilities
- Strong typing, filing, proofreading, and data entry skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
