Meritus Health is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Meritus NOW Operations Coordinator to support the delivery of exceptional virtual healthcare services. This role combines clinical, operational, technical, and patient service responsibilities to ensure a seamless experience for both virtual and in-person patient care.
The Operations Coordinator serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, clinical teams, support departments, and external healthcare partners. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, possess excellent communication and multitasking skills, and be passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.
Patient Support & Care Coordination
- Assist patients with registration, insurance verification, MyChart support, questionnaires, payment collection, and appointment scheduling.
- Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and provider-directed patient care activities.
- Support continuity of care through effective communication and care navigation.
Clinical & Operational Support
- Review upcoming patient appointments to ensure readiness and appropriateness.
- Room patients and assist with visit preparation.
- Manage in-basket and MyChart messages in a timely manner.
- Perform charge reconciliation and maintain workqueue accuracy.
- Support efficient virtual and in-person clinical workflows.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate with patients through in-person interactions, telephone, email, virtual platforms, and Epic chat.
- Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, pharmacies, insurance companies, physician practices, and other healthcare partners.
- Promote a positive, patient-centered healthcare experience.
Team Support
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of new team members.
- Provide guidance on workflows, systems, and operational processes.
- Participate in departmental initiatives and additional duties as assigned.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Education appropriate to licensure or certification requirements.
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare environment required.
Licensure/Certification
- Must be a licensed LPN or certified Medical Assistant (MA).
- Current Maryland licensure or certification required.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer proficiency and technical aptitude.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and teams.
