What are the responsibilities and job description for the Erosion Control Installation Crew Lead position at Merit Professional?
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Crew Lead to oversee erosion control installation projects. The Crew Lead will be responsible for supervising a small team in the field, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all specifications and regulations.
- Lead and work alongside crew members to install erosion control measures such as silt fence, wattles, inlet protection, erosion blankets, and seeding.
- Coordinate daily work plans and ensure all materials, tools, and equipment are ready for use.
- Maintain safety standards and enforce company policies on job sites.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and other team members.
- Ensure quality control and accuracy of installations.
- Operate small equipment such as skid steers, trenchers.
- Complete daily paperwork, time sheets, and field reports.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in erosion control, landscaping, or construction (leadership experience preferred)
- Knowledge of BMP (Best Management Practices) for erosion and sediment control.
- Ability to read site plans and follow project specifications.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor.
