For 60 years, Merit has been connecting people, organizations, and ideas through technology. As a Michigan-based nonprofit, we support education, research, healthcare, government, libraries, and nonprofit organizations through connectivity, technology solutions, collaboration, and innovation.

In this role, you’ll help build on that work by identifying and developing new opportunities at the intersection of technology, research, healthcare, and community needs. You’ll build strategic relationships, explore emerging needs and technologies, and help connect organizations with Merit’s infrastructure, expertise, services, and partnerships.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across areas including:

🌐 Emerging technologies & research infrastructure, including IoT, AI, and quantum networking

🎓 Higher education & research engagement

🏥 Rural healthcare connectivity & program growth

🤝 Strategic partnerships & business development

💡 Turning emerging needs and ideas into meaningful opportunities for Merit and the communities we serve

We’re looking for someone who brings strong relationship-building and business development experience, technical fluency, and curiosity. You don’t need to arrive as an expert in every technology or program this role will encounter, but you should be excited to learn, build connections, and help move ideas from discovery into action.

📍 Hybrid role based in Ann Arbor, MI

💰 Starting salary range: $80,000–$87,000
