What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Planning and Development Intern position at Meridian Township?
Under the supervision of the Community Planning and Development Director, perform data gathering and field work on proposed development projects, research related to zoning ordinance regulations, investigate complaints related to code violations such as blight, garbage/refuse, weeds/grass, signage, zoning and other applicable ordinances, and conducts on-site inspection of properties to determine conformity and documents facts.
Required Qualifications
Must possess a valid driver's license, basic knowledge of computer applications and Microsoft Office Suite, and use of digital camera.
Preferred Qualifications
Skill in assembling and analyzing data and preparing comprehensive and accurate reports.
Skill in effectively communicating ideas and concepts orally and in writing.
Skill in use of office equipment and technology, including computer and related software, and the ability to master new technologies.
Timeframe
May 1 - September 1, with an opportunity to continue through the fall.
