Their mission is to connect stakeholders with funding, technical assistance, data resources, and platforms for addressing regional challenges and growth opportunities in the Greater Lansing area.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Lansing, MI, with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. The Economic Development Planner will be responsible for leading and supporting regional and economic development projects, with a focus on creating strategies for sustainable growth and infrastructure development. Key responsibilities also include data analysis, stakeholder engagement, preparing plans and reports, and securing and managing federal or state funding for economic and community development initiatives.
- Proficiency in Development Planning and Regional Planning methodologies
- Experience with Land Use and Land Use Planning, including zoning and development regulations
- Knowledge of Environmental Planning and its integration with economic and regional plans
- Ability to conduct outreach, foster collaborations with government entities, and manage multifaceted projects
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Economic Development, Public Administration, or related field
- Proficiency in GIS software and data analysis tools is preferred
- Familiarity with federal and state funding programs is a plus
