Telecom Engineer – Hybrid (Raleigh, NC)

We are seeking an experienced Telecom Power Engineer to support the design, implementation, and delivery of complex AC and DC power solutions for critical telecommunications infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience supporting 48V DC power systems, telecom DC plants, UPS systems, battery systems, and infrastructure engineering.

This position offers a hybrid schedule with onsite work in downtown Raleigh, NC three days per week.

What You’ll Do

Engineer, design, and implement AC/DC power solutions supporting telecom infrastructure

Develop engineering packages including equipment lists, installation instructions, drawings, diagrams, and documentation

Support telecom power systems including DC battery plants, UPS systems, rectifiers, and battery monitoring solutions

Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and documentation for new and existing infrastructure

Partner with field teams, operations teams, and engineering groups to deliver reliable telecom solutions

Provide advanced technical support for complex telecom power and infrastructure issues

Review designs for reliability, cost effectiveness, and alignment with business needs

Required Experience

6 years of direct experience in telecom power engineering, electrical engineering, or telecommunications infrastructure

Strong knowledge of 48V DC power systems and 120/240V AC power systems

Experience with:

Telecom DC plants

UPS systems

Battery systems and monitoring

Backup power/generator systems

Grounding standards for telecom shelters and towers

Ability to independently manage engineering projects and work with minimal supervision

Experience creating technical documentation, drawings, and engineering packages

Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Preferred Experience

Experience with telecom power equipment from vendors such as Vertiv, Eltek, Eaton/Powerware, or Delta

Background supporting utility, telecommunications, wireless, or critical infrastructure environments

Experience with Cisco networking equipment, Nokia, Ciena, Alcatel-Lucent, microwave, or optical transport technologies

Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Agile environments, or engineering documentation systems

Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience

Work Details

Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite per week

Limited travel (up to 5%) for site visits and implementations
