Location: Mapleton, IL
Job Type: 18-Month Contract to start
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (occasional schedule flexibility required)

Job Description
Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer/Internal Auditor to support their Quality Management team at a manufacturing facility in Mapleton, IL. This position will focus on conducting internal quality audits, identifying process improvements, and supporting the continued improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
The ideal candidate will have experience performing internal audits within a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, CQMS, or similar quality management systems. Candidates with Internal Auditor certification, Lead Auditor experience, or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) credentials are highly preferred.
This is a hands-on role working directly with the Quality Management team to evaluate processes, identify gaps, support corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
· Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal quality audits
· Perform process audits to evaluate compliance with quality standards and procedures
· Review quality systems, processes, and documentation for improvement opportunities
· Generate audit reports and communicate findings to leadership
· Identify, analyze, and support resolution of non-conformances
· Assist with corrective actions and root cause investigations
· Monitor quality trends and provide feedback to improve processes
· Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams
· Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Management System
Required Qualifications
· Internal Auditor Certification required
· Minimum 2 years of auditing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
· Experience conducting internal quality audits
· Experience auditing ISO 9001, ISO 17025, CQMS, or similar quality systems
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
· Lead Auditor experience
· ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification
· Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
· Experience with corrective action processes, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
· Manufacturing experience (machining, foundry, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial environments)
