Job Title: Structural Engineering Professional Intermediate

Location: Hybrid – Hillsboro, OR

Contract duration: 12 month contract with potential to extend or convert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design and delivery of complex industrial, manufacturing, and advanced facility projects. This role will be responsible for developing structural design concepts, performing engineering analyses, preparing construction documentation, and supporting projects throughout design, construction, and post-construction phases. The ideal candidate will have experience designing steel and concrete structures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing technical expertise in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Develop structural design concepts and technical studies to support project planning and client decision-making.
• Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations for steel and concrete structures.
• Prepare and oversee the development of detailed construction drawings and engineering documentation.
• Support projects through all phases of design, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration, and post-construction activities.
• Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, and project reviews.
• Conduct existing site evaluations and field investigations.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Provide technical expertise and engineering recommendations throughout project execution.
• Coordinate structural designs with other engineering disciplines to ensure project integration and constructability.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction.
• Perform site visits and construction observations to verify compliance with design intent.
• Support project delivery efforts through coordination with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Assist with project planning, scope development, and engineering strategies.
• Contribute to problem-solving efforts and development of innovative engineering solutions.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural engineering design.
• Experience designing both steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD or similar platforms.
• Experience preparing engineering and construction documents throughout multiple project phases.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and project deadlines.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to participate in client meetings and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, or advanced technology facility projects.
• Experience working on complex or highly technical design projects.
• Familiarity with project scoping, planning, and development activities.
• Experience coordinating with external consultants and multiple engineering disciplines.
• Proficiency with Navisworks, Revit, and BIM workflows.
• Strong presentation, visualization, and graphic communication skills.
• Experience working on both small and large project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and design approaches.
• Passion for engineering, construction, and innovative facility design.
