We are licensed to provide protective services in Virginia and Washington DC.
Position Summary
The Full-Time Protective Driver will provide protective/secure transportation, physical protection, and overall safe environment by performing armed or unarmed secure transportation/executive protection missions upon request. This position is based in Washington DC Metro Area. This position will support the overall security team in the clients’ coverage, and will deliver daily transportation for the client. Most assignments will include local area advances, daily transportation, and providing protective service at different locations, appointments, and residential or office environments.
Service responsibility and compensation will occur under 1099 Independent Contractors Agreement stipulations for sole proprietorships or equivalent compensation package for W-2 employment.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport C-suite executive(s) to scheduled destinations throughout Washington DC and the North Virginia region;
- Conduct route planning, traffic monitoring, and contingency planning to ensure safe and timely arrivals;
- Maintain a professional and discreet demeanor at all times;
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each trip;
- Remain in close proximity to the vehicle and principal when on standby;
- Coordinate with security teams and administrative staff as needed;
- Maintain situational awareness and respond effectively to any threats or emergencies;
- Maintain a clean, mechanically sound, and fully prepared vehicle;
- Ensure strict confidentiality at all times;
- Must be able to manage time appropriately;
· All other EP related duties as assigned;
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License and Clean driving record (Subject to verification);
- Completed Protective/Evasive Driving Course from recognized training provider (VDI, LaSorsa, AS3 Solutions, BMW, or similar government training program);
- Completed Executive Protection Course from recognized national or regional training provider;
- VA DCJS Armed Personal Protection Specialist registration;
- VA Conceal Carry Weapon Permit;
- DC Conceal Carry Pistol License;
- Basic medical certification (First Aid/CPR/AED from recognized training provider)
- Presence and familiarization with the DMV region (relocation support is not provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Military and/or Law Enforcement background;
- HR 218 Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act license;
- Advance Medical Certification (BLS, ALS, TCCC, TECC or similar);
- DC DLCP SPO License;
- Undergraduate or higher education;
- Foreign languages;
Position Type and Schedule
- Full-time (M-F with 40 scheduled hours);
- In-person position located in Washington DC and/or North Virginia;
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position does not provide or compensate accommodation. All applicants must physically reside in the DMV region, or to have arranged temporary accommodation while performing on behalf of Meridian Protection LLC.
Other relevant physical demands:
- Exposure to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals or high-alert security issues;
- Exposure to sensitive and confidential information;
- Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods;
- Must be physically fit to respond to emergencies and potentially assist with protective actions;
- Must be able to perform longer than 8 hours/day.
Compensation
Estimated compensation for Full-time Protective Driver position under active independent contractors 1099 agreement is $90.000 for 40 hours a week ($90K-$120K for 40-60 hours a week).
