Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Infection Prevention/Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN) to lead our infection control initiatives and staff education programs. Duties
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention policies aligned with CDC guidelines, OSHA standards, and long-term care regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive data collection and analysis related to infection rates, compliance metrics, and outbreak investigations to inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead staff education initiatives on infection control practices, aseptic techniques, microbiology principles, and disease prevention policies to ensure high standards of care.
- Monitor patient observations and medical records for signs of infection or disease transmission; review documentation for accuracy and compliance with health regulations.
- Oversee the management of infection control programs within acute care, long-term care, assisted living, hospital environments—including Level I Trauma Centers and Level II Trauma Centers—ensuring adherence to all relevant health regulation policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans focusing on infectious disease management and patient monitoring.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare infection prevention expertise by staying current with CDC guidelines, epidemiology updates, and public health initiatives related to infectious diseases.
- Take call once a month
Skills
- Extensive experience in critical care, hospital settings, long-term care facilities, or assisted living environments.
- Strong knowledge of infection control regulations such as OSHA standards, HIPAA privacy rules, and long-term care regulations.
- Proficiency in data management systems for tracking infection rates, documentation review, and medical records analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership in team management and staff development within healthcare settings.
- In-depth understanding of microbiology, physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infectious disease epidemiology.
- Ability to interpret complex health regulation policies and translate them into practical procedures for staff training.
- Excellent communication skills for educating teams on infectious disease care practices and public health protocols.
