The Meriden Public Schools seeks applicants for an Elementary Technology Teacher

General Statement:

The Elementary Technology Teacher is responsible for teaching digital citizenship and computer science and applications in the K-5 Instructional setting. This position will provide instruction at multiple elementary schools within the district.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement the Elementary Computer Science and Digital Citizenship curriculum
• Model digital citizenship and information fluency
• Work with students and help them become digitally literate and responsible digital citizens
• Collaborate with grade-level teams in order to infuse technology into the curriculum
• Enrich teaching and learning by supporting teachers and students to develop technology skills
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or Principal

Qualifications:

• A strong background in educational technology.
• Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher with knowledge and mastery of a variety of technologies and effective instructional strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to support learning and curriculum alignment and develop effective lessons aligned with ISTE Standards for Students
• Ideal candidates should work well with others and have clear goals and strategies for integrating technology into instruction.
• A valid Connecticut certification with endorsement for elementary education is required.

Salary:

$135 per day for the first 39 days, BA Step 4 per diem thereafter
