Injection Molding Production Lead

As our Injection Molding Production Lead, you will orchestrate people, materials, and machines so the production plan is hit—safely, with top quality, and at peak efficiency.

Start of shift: You open IQMS, scan cycle-time dashboards, and walk the floor to confirm staffing and materials at each cell. You align resources to priorities and brief your team on the plan, safety focus, and quality expectations.

Mid-shift: You keep product moving—verifying material availability, watching cycle trends, and reviewing IQMS output reports at set intervals. When a nonconformance appears, you follow established procedures, contain the issue, and loop in Quality and Engineering as needed. A mold change is on deck—you coordinate the changeover for a clean, fast start-up and an effective line clearance. You troubleshoot primary and secondary processes and call for technical support when required.

Throughout: You reinforce adherence to all safety and quality procedures, oversee 6S checks, and maintain outstanding housekeeping. You capture and correct deviations quickly, keep metrics current in IQMS, and drive small, daily improvements aligned with lean principles.

End of shift: You verify the production report in IQMS, summarize performance metrics, and share results in the daily production meeting. You also record time and attendance accurately (hours worked, PTO, and Personal Time), provide timely performance feedback, and document any disciplinary actions when necessary—all in real time.

• Deliver the production plan by directing a high-performing team.
• Allocate people and equipment to the highest priorities for maximum throughput.
• Control output by managing materials, monitoring cycle times, and reviewing IQMS data during the shift.
• Ensure full compliance with safety and quality procedures at all times.
• Own the response to nonconforming events (quality, safety, etc.) per established policies.
• Partner with Warehouse, Quality, and Engineering to quickly resolve issues impacting flow.
• Plan and coordinate mold changes to achieve rapid, right-first-time start-ups and effective line clearance.
• Troubleshoot both primary and secondary processes; escalate for technical assistance when needed.
• Audit and verify 6S activities and sustain exceptional housekeeping standards.
• Track IQMS metrics continuously, take corrective action, and validate the shift’s production report.
• Report all metrics at shift end and in the daily production meeting.
• Continuously refine methods and SOPs to lift efficiency, quality, and visual management in line with lean.
• Coordinate with the Trainer to onboard new hires so the shift is fully resourced.
• Manage attendance, holidays, and absences; record time data accurately and in real time.
• Offer prompt, constructive performance feedback and address issues quickly.
• Build an engaged, supportive team that rallies around targets.
• Carry out disciplinary actions as needed and document incidents promptly.

• Proven leadership and people management.
