Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Women and Children Services across MercyOne Medical Center, West Des Moines, Centerville, and Newton.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, physicians, and staff to meet departmental and organizational goals.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, budgets, and staffing models.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory standards including The Joint Commission.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives using data-driven strategies.
- Mentor and coach management and staff through change and innovation.
- Align services across the market and standardize clinical performance based on AWONN and AAP standards.
- Implement new care models utilizing digital technology.
- Represent MercyOne in national professional organizations and community health initiatives.
- Current or compact state RN license (Iowa).
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree required.
- AWONN certification (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
- Completion of Iowa Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a large, complex Women and Children services environment.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
