Job Profile Summary
The RN Unit Supervisor/Staff will have 24/7 accountability for an assigned areas that includes nursing functions. The Supervisor plans, organizes, and directs nursing practice for areas of responsibility and does this in accordance with the Health System's Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy. The Supervisor will maintain clinical expertise in their area of responsibility and is expected to provide direct patient care in proportion to the needs of their areas. The Supervisor ensures the total patient experience is exceptional both in the Quality of Care and in the patient perception of services as defined and measured by system dashboard goals. Interviews, selects, orientates trains, coaches and mentors and evaluates the performance of partners, providing corrective action when necessary.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Strong problem solving abilities in complex situations.
• Ability to work within the budget and productivity targets to meet organizational objectives. Participates and supports the plans in place for selection of staff, evaluation of staff, orientation of new staff, continued education and development of staff, competency evaluation of staff, appropriate scheduling of staff based on patient acuity.
• Supports and partners with the Manager/Clinical Leader and ensures the knowledge, skills, and behaviors of staff are consistent and in alignment with the goals of the unit.

Qualifications:Education and Experience
BSN required from an accredited BSN Completion Program.
Certification in specialty preferred.
Must have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of progressively responsible nursing leadership experience.
Certification and Licensure: Licensed as an RN in state of practice
Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal/communication and conflict resolution skills. Genuine concern for people. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Adept listener with the ability to interpret concerns. May include color blind test (per department guidelines)
Special Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
