Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Mechanical Engineering Co-op eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to complex design challenges. In this hands-on role, you’ll support the process of design, manufacturing, and qualification of RF/Microwave systems and components.
Onsite in Hudson, NH from July 2027 - December 2027
Job Responsibilities:
- Support electromechanical engineering from concept to detailed design and analysis - including product/fixture/cable designs, internal reviews, and creation of engineering drawings
- Create and maintain 2D layouts and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Help structure Bills of Material (BOMs) and support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs/ECOs)
- Contribute to documentation required for procurement, assembly, verification, and validation
- Assist with machine shop and manufacturing operations
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement
- Communicate design concepts and technical documentation to both internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in mechanical engineering
- A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the application process
- Basic understanding of heat transfer and thermal management principles
- Familiarity with conventional and advanced manufacturing methods, including additive manufacturing
- Experience with 2D or 3D CAD tools
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with standard documentation and presentation tools
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronics hardware assembly
- Familiarity with GD&T and technical drawings
- Experience using SolidWorks PDM tools
- Familiarity with material properties and structural analysis
